Labor Supporting Upgrades To The Melkite Community Hall

Federal Member for Cooper, Ged Kearney announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support upgrades to the Melkite Community Hall at St Joseph’s Melkite Catholic Church.

This $75,000 election commitment will contribute towards upgrades of the ageing hall, including plumbing works to fix sewerage issues and a refurbishment of the bathroom and kitchen facilities.

The upgrades to the community hall will allow the Parish to host more events and provide opportunities for the community to connect and gather.

The Melkite community supports many newly arrived migrants and refugees, and these upgrades will also contribute to providing a safe and welcoming space for them and build stronger community connections.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
